What on earth do i do with the crown molding as it transitions from the tiled shower to the wall.

I might have suggested to build the crown out the thickness of the tile and continue the crown around the shower over the tile so you would not get the finish you have. Provided they have coped the crown this would be a easy process.

I d keep the bottom of the filler strip even with the bottom edge of the crown.
